SUMMARY:Women's Weekend Retreat - Harvesting Presence
DESCRIPTION:  \nHarvesting Presence\n“God has made everything beautiful in its time.”  –  Ecclesiastes 3:11\n  \nWomen’s Weekend Retreat at the Foehliage\nGalena\, Maryland \nOctober 9 – 11\, 2026 \n  \n  \n  \n“Beauty especially occurs in the meeting of time with the timeless;  \nthe passing moment framed by what has happened and what is about to occur\,  \nthe scattering of the first spring apple blossom\, \n the turning\, spiraling flight of a curled leaf in the falling light[.] \nBeauty is the harvest of presence.   David Whyte \n\nJoin us for a weekend away at the Foehliage along the Sassafras River. The beauty of the river\, the trees and their changing colors\, and the warmth of the firepit – each offer a timelessness to our busy lives. For this weekend away\, we will take time to be present to the beauty that surrounds us and to rest in both quiet and loving community.  \nThis retreat will include time for silence\, reflection\, and heart-enriching conversation. We will be invited to reflect on the seasons of our lives\, to notice the Light of God’s presence there\, and to receive the wisdom and grace that is rising through this companionship with our own heart.  \nThe retreat begins with dinner on Friday evening and ends with a parting ceremony and breakfast on Sunday. The cost of the retreat includes five nutritious meals\, lodging\, and all materials. \nOur retreat will be guided by Heather Strang and Fracie Thayer\, with support in facilitation from other Retreat House leaders. Our artist companion for the weekend will be Liz Carren\, who will guide us with ease in creating visual reflections\, for those who are drawn to using their hands. No experience necessary! Read below for more about Liz and view some of her art on her site. \nAs always\, this retreat is small\, and we encourage you to register as you are ready. \n$395 individual room\n$345 shared room  \n  \nRegister HERE.                         \nABOUT OUR ARTIST COMPANION: \n \nAs a kid – I was lucky I grew up in a creative household and had significant exposure to many aspects/types/kinds of “the arts’’… but the real awakening came when I was diagnosed with cancer.  It truly changed the direction and awareness of my life. For the first time\, and probably ever\, I was honestly creating for MYSELF. Creating for clarity\, for an understanding of my new reality\, and though I didn’t know or understand it at the time\, creating for a release and some very personal questions and answers. \nThat led to the steppingstone of me sharing mindful art. I now have total clarity that Art can be used for healing\, sanity\, rest\, grounding\, enjoyment\, and a little self-compassion and guidance. https://caringartist.com/about \n

SUMMARY:Women's Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Women’s Christmas\nJanuary 3\, 2025\n9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.\nheld at\nThe Foehliage\, Galena\, Maryland\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n “Thus says the Lord: Stand at the crossroads\, and look\, and ask for the ancient paths\, where the good way lies; and walk in it\, and find rest for your souls.”  – Jeremiah  6:16 \nThe celebration of Celtic Women’s Christmas is an invitation to rest. Give yourself this special time to refresh your spirit and restore in the company of other women. We’ll sink into the day as a celebration of Celtic Women’s Christmas\, an ancient and time-honored tradition of Celtic spirituality shared at the Feast of Epiphany. Gather with us and share in the tradition of a day set aside for women to gather\, to be in community with each other\, and to rest and refill after a busy holiday season. \nJoin us on Saturday January 3\, 2026 for this time of rest in the Divine God. Through poetry\, blessings\,  time outdoors (weather permitting) and quiet reflection we will refresh our spirits with inspiration from Jeremiah 6:16 as we look to the ‘ancient paths’ to better learn why the celebration was created and continues to this day. It will be a day for communing in nature\, personal discovery\, group interaction\, rest\, and renewal for those gathered.  \nWe will enjoy a light breakfast\, a wholesome lunch\, and the opportunity to enjoy the riverside beauty in our midst and immerse ourselves in nature. \n  \nRegister:  HERE

SUMMARY:Unearthing the Gifts of Autumn: A Women's Weekend Retreat
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nUnearthing the Gifts of Autumn: A Women’s Weekend Retreat\nFriday\, October 24 – Sunday\, October 26\, 2025\nHosted by the Retreat House at the Foehliage Retreat Center in Galena\, Maryland\nFacilitated by Linda Mastro\n“For where your treasure is\, there your heart will be also.” ~ Matthew 6:21 \n  \nAutumn is a season of transformation. Trees display a kaleidoscope of color before releasing their spent leaves to nourish the earth. Gardens give up their harvest and the soil rests until planting season comes again. Nature mirrors how we can honor what is awe-inspiring in our lives and how to let go of what has run its course. \nIn this weekend we will explore how autumn can show us how to honor our gifts and cultivate new perspectives. Retreat activities will be shaped by prayerful listening in community and silent personal reflection\, accompanied by music\, movement\, and creative play. Guests will experience the hospitality of the Foehliage Retreat Center\, which offers comfortable lodging\, home-prepared meals\, and the freedom to explore the ground of this riverfront treasure. The retreat begins with dinner on Friday evening and ends with a prayer service and brunch on Sunday. \nThe cost of the retreat includes five nutritious meals\, lodging\, and all materials.  \nSingle rooms: $395 Shared room: $345 \nRegister here: \nhttps://tinyurl.com/RHfall2025 \n
