DESCRIPTION:Deep Preaching in Shallow Times: Negotiating Power in the Public Square\nIn this session we will explore the ways that a renewal of biblical preaching confronts the powers of divisiveness active in our world. The session will provide perspectives and techniques to deepen one’s preaching to meet the challenges of the day. \nA light breakfast is included and lunch will be available upon request. A suggested donation of $50 per person will be gratefully accepted. Mark Jefferson currently serves as Visiting Professor of Homiletics at Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS)\, in Alexandria\, Virginia. He also serves as Associate Director of the Deep Calls to Deep preaching program\, an initiative supported by a Lilly grant to cultivate embodied preaching. Rev.
