SUMMARY:5 Day Centering Prayer Retreat
DESCRIPTION:This silent retreat will offer you the opportunity to go deeper into the discipline of Centering Prayer\, experience silence\, stillness\, and communion with God\, each other\, and creation. Led by the Rev. Carlyle Gill\, the sessions will include in-depth teaching about spiritual and psychological dimensions of Centering Prayer that will be woven into multiple daily Centering Prayer\nsits. Eucharist will be offered daily\, as well as time for individual spiritual direction. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe retreat takes place at The Foehliage (foehliageretreatcenter.org)\, a private retreat center located on the beautiful Sassafras River in northern Kent County\, Maryland. The week begins with lunch on Monday\, October 21 and ends with lunch on Friday\, October 25. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCOST:  $695 per person includes single room accommodations\, all meals\, retreat sessions and spiritual direction. This is the perfect time to return to the Journey\, come for the first time\, or to explore with a friend. \nWe will spend a few minutes in the Herb Garden to see and touch mint\, chamomile\, sage\, lavender\, sweet grass and other herbs thriving in the spring sunshine. \nLocal gardener and aromatherapist Elaine Hoggard will be with us to share about each herb’s healing properties as we welcome the fragrance in our breathing meditation. \nWe will enjoy the refreshment of an herb-infused ice tea in a ceremony to say good-bye until our monthly gathering begins again in the fall. \nLight snacks will be available. Although there is no fee for this retreat\, a suggested donation of $30 would be gratefully accepted and will be used to offer programs to other Sisters who wish to be on this Journey. DESCRIPTION:A state of the heart mostly associated with the death of someone we love\, grief also finds us through many kinds of life transitions and losses. Even happy times like retirement\, relocation or the birth of a child can provoke grief for what is ending\, as our new phase of life begins. \nIn this program we will use our own experiences of transition and loss to explore the mystery of God’s presence during the grieving process. SUMMARY:The Road to Reconciliation
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n\n \nTHE ROAD TO RECONCILIATION\nRegister here. \nThe Retreat House at Hillsboro invites you to participate in a three-part workshop series to be held at host parishes within the Diocese of Easton. The workshops will encourage open\, grace-filled conversations about reconciliation\, forgiveness and transformation. \nOver the course of three evenings\, participants will explore together the subtle\, and not so subtle\, ways that bias and racism still exist and how to open our eyes and hearts to healing. The program will include learning to listen and speak from an open\, non-judgmental heart through story telling\, prayer\, and conversation. \n  \n  \n  \nDuring these sessions\, we will: \n… NOTICE the power of our words and assumptions.\n… DEEPEN our awareness of our capacity to hurt or to heal.\n… ENHANCE our sensitivity to one another\n… REMEMBER God’s desire for us to respect the dignity of every\nhuman being. \nWorkshops will be held every other week during September and October.
