SUMMARY:Seeking Wisdom - a mindful\, intuitive\, and creative approach to prayer
DESCRIPTION:  \nSeeking Wisdom – a mindful\, intuitive\, and creative approach to prayer \nMonday evenings\, 6:30 – 7:45 p.m. ET \non Zoom \n9/21 – 10/26\, 2026 \n  \n  \n  \nWe will explore together Julia Cameron’s Seeking Wisdom: A Spiritual Path to Creative Connection and delve into the spiritual practices from her seminal book The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity: \n“Creativity is God’s gift to us. Using our creativity is our gift back to God.”  \nToo often\, we look for answers from others and wait for their approval. What if we had a simple process of seeing with clarity that is authentic\, mindful\, intuitive\, and heart-felt? \nIn our book for this series\,  the author offers a vision of prayer as a creative process\, rather than a religious act. Along the way\, this spiritual process sparks our creativity and deepens our spirituality. \nAs we journey through her 6-week program\, we apply the tools for self-discovery and mental decluttering that she’s shared with over 5 million readers: morning pages\, artists’ dates\, contemplative walks\, and listening for that still small voice of God. \nPlease note that this process is welcoming to all\, regardless of your faith tradition or practice of prayer. Likewise\, no “creativity” needed. Join us to deepen your connection with yourself and your Creator. \nYour leader for this journey is Heather Hall\, a lifelong seeker who guides us to listen for our inner wisdom. \nThough not required\, it’s recommended that you get a copy of Julia Cameron’s Seeking Wisdom: A Spiritual Path to Creative Connection. You can purchase it at your favorite bookseller or through The Retreat House’s Bookshop. \n  \nREGISTER HERE: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/the-retreat-house \nSuggested donation: $90\nWhen you pay\, you will be invited to support the non-profit payment platform with a small donation. We welcome you to pay as you will. Also\, if you would like to donate an additional amount to support others\, we are so grateful. \nWe prefer ONLINE payments. SUMMARY:Cherished Belonging - unconditional love at work in our world
DESCRIPTION:Cherished Belonging\nSeptember 15 – November 17\, 2026\nTuesday afternoons\n3:00 – 4:30 p.m. EST\non Zoom\n\nJoin us for this online book circle exploring the power of love in our divided world.  \nAs we explore Greg Boyle’s latest collection of stories about living and working with the community of Home Boy Industries in Los Angeles\, we will listen contemplatively for the invitations that are for us as individuals navigating our world. What lens do we wear when standing with others who are so very different from us? \nWe will consider notions such as radical inclusion\, finding grace in human brokenness\, and living on the margins of society. Each week we will explore the perspectives and ways of being that play a role in fostering true\, inclusive community. With readings from the mystics and the divine feminine scriptures reflected in Greg Boyle’s ministry\, we will listen deeply to the healing shared both in the stories\, and our very own  personal prejudices and exclusionary labels.  \n  \nWe will meet for nine weeks\, with a one week break on 10/13. We will send the Zoom link prior to our first session. \n  \nREGISTER HERE: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/the-retreat-house \nSuggested donation: $85 \nWhen you pay\, you will be invited to support the non-profit payment platform with a small donation. Scroll down to ‘other;’ even a dollar or two helps.\n\nPlease find the book at your library\, favorite bookseller\, or at the Retreat House Bookshop:\nhttps://bookshop.org/p/books/cherished-belonging-the-healing-power-of-love-in-divided-times-gregory-boyle/37a51edf1b6efb16?ean=9781668061855&aid=19040&listref=community-favorites\nAn E-book is available by purchasing online.\n———————————————— \nPayment instructions: \nPlease do no let finances get in the way of gathering with us!
