DESCRIPTION:  \nHarvesting Presence\n“God has made everything beautiful in its time.”  –  Ecclesiastes 3:11\n  \nWomen’s Weekend Retreat at the Foehliage\nGalena\, Maryland \nOctober 9 – 11\, 2026 \n  \n  \n  \n“Beauty especially occurs in the meeting of time with the timeless;  \nthe passing moment framed by what has happened and what is about to occur\,  \nthe scattering of the first spring apple blossom\, \n the turning\, spiraling flight of a curled leaf in the falling light[.] \nBeauty is the harvest of presence.   David Whyte \n\nJoin us for a weekend away at the Foehliage along the Sassafras River. The beauty of the river\, the trees and their changing colors\, and the warmth of the firepit – each offer a timelessness to our busy lives. For this weekend away\, we will take time to be present to the beauty that surrounds us and to rest in both quiet and loving community.  \nThis retreat will include time for silence\, reflection\, and heart-enriching conversation. We will be invited to reflect on the seasons of our lives\, to notice the Light of God’s presence there\, and to receive the wisdom and grace that is rising through this companionship with our own heart.  \nThe retreat begins with dinner on Friday evening and ends with a parting ceremony and breakfast on Sunday. The cost of the retreat includes five nutritious meals\, lodging\, and all materials.  \nOur retreat will be guided by Heather Strang and Fracie Thayer\, with support in facilitation from other Retreat House leaders. Our artist companion for the weekend will be Liz Carren\, who will guide us with ease in creating visual reflections\, for those who are drawn to using their hands. No experience necessary! For the first time\, and probably ever\, I was honestly creating for MYSELF. Creating for clarity\, for an understanding of my new reality\, and though I didn’t know or understand it at the time\, creating for a release and some very personal questions and answers. \nThat led to the steppingstone of me sharing mindful art. DESCRIPTION:  \nWisdom Café\n\nAll are welcome to join in this Retreat House gathering –  the Wisdom Café\, held each Monday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. EST on Zoom. \n\nWe usually begin with an inspirational reading\, enjoy a bit of quiet time. Then we take turns sharing what bubbles up and listen to each other’s reflections.
