Pause.

I go among the trees and sit still
And my stirring becomes quiet
Around me like circles on water
My tasks lie in their places
Where I left them, asleep like cattle
Then what I am afraid of comes
I live for a while in it’s sight
What I fear in it leaves it
And the fear of it leaves me
It sings and I hear its song.

You take delight, O Radiant One,
in gracing me with new life!
O Beloved, come and renew me!
Let me face my weaknesses and all
that confuses me,
that keeps me from joy!

Psalm 70. From Psalms for Praying, Nan C. Merrill
